This is a course on the economics of globalization and trade policy. Throughout the course we will introduce some topics related to international trade that have been discussed or that are currently been discussed in academic circles. Besides learning about the economics of international trade, the course provides a good opportunity to put your econometric skills to work on relevant questions.
At the end of the course the student will acquires basic skills to critically elaborate and interpret important international empirical aspects such as the link between growth and international trade. In addition, the student will be able to build international measures of globalization and compare different economies.

3. Business cycle and other stylized facts around the world.
4. Measurement issues of globalization.
5. Globalization and inequality.
6. Globalization and growth.
Lecture notes available online in teaching materials (moodle area). Numerous shorter readings are assigned during the lessons with the aim to reinforce the lecture notes.
At the end of the course a written exam will take place; the student will be asked to respond to some questions concerning the topics discussed during the course.
