The course is inserted between the disciplines common to the Program of Study and aims to provide an adequate critical knowledge used in literary study and the fundamental tools for the textual interpretation. The teaching activity aims to start an analysis historically and philologically aware of the literary texts, founded on the mastery of the technical language.
The achievement of these instructional goals allows the student to acquire the bases for an in-depth learning of the literary criticism, developing the skills of comparison and evaluation.

Knowledge of the methods of literary criticism applied by Italo Calvino in "Six Memos For The Next Millennium".
Bachelor's degree in literature and good knoledge of italian literature and major European literature.
Analysis of "Six Memos For The Next Millennium" of Italo Calvino.

Students who are not attending must also read "Le città invisibili" di Italo Calvino (Mondadori, 2016).
The examen will take place in a dialogue on two or three topics of the program.
