The course aims at giving students basic skills in the field of written professional texts, focusing mainly on the features of communication, on text planning, on linguistic effectiveness, on text revising.
Basic skills in the field of written professional texts, focusing mainly on the features of communication, on text planning, on linguistic effectiveness, on text revising.
Skills in professional text comprehension, as a prerequisite of text composition (which is the subject of the course).
1.Text: Its Structure, Construction, Fundamental Requirements. 2. Writing, Speaking and Listening, Writing for the Web. 3. Paraphrase (focus on the language of bureaucracy). 4. Summarising Information and Information Hierarchy. 5. Text Typologies and Argumentative Texts. 6. Introduction to sectorial languages and Italian for Business. 7. Writing Business Letters. 8. Writing a CV. 9. Reports and Meeting Minutes. 10. Informed Writing: Notes and References.
The course also includes written exercises and practice.

Attending students will also take a written test containing 3-4 open-ended questions and a practical exercise. Non-attending students will take a written test containing 6-7 open-ended questions (without practical exercise).
