EGYPTOLOGY II

The course is part of the base disciplines, curriculum of Archaeology, Bachelor's Degree programme in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts Management.
The course belongs to the sectors of archaeological learning, with a specific subject connected with the culture of the written text and classical language of pharaonic Egypt. The course will provide the basic tools for the comprehension of a text in classical Egyptian language, together with basic knowledge of the culture of text and literature (on-line part).
This knowledge contributes to the basic competences in a wider frame of historical-archaeological disciplines.

At the end of the course, the student of Egittologia II will acquire basic skills in language and writing culture of the pharaonic Egypt. These skills are part of the curriculum of “Archeologia”, specifically Ancient Near East, and are connected with the disciplines of the Ancient Near East and the ancient Mediterranean.

Attendance to the course of “Egyptology I” (see “Other”). Attendance to the courses on the ancient Mediterranean and ancient Near East is highly suggested.

Attendance to the on-line part of the course (https://moodle.unive.it/course/view.php?id=1580 ) is part of the exam programme.
The exam of “Egyptology II” can be taken only after the exam of “Egyptology I”.
Exam of “Egyptology” 12 CFU (FT0054): the exam of “Egyptology II” is the second and final part of the whole exam; for the first part of the exam (always written), see “Egyptology I”.
