Introduction to English for Specifica Academic Purposes: English for Computer Science.
Consolidation and development of the lexis in language for specific purposes, grammar and pronunciation
Dvelopment of presentation and discussion skills in the professional area
The course aims at:
A. developing specific skills in English for Computer Science, with special reference to the use of professional English in oral contexts;
B: developing presentation & discussion skills within professional situations.
Before taking this course students are required to have passed the B1 test.
The course is structured as follows:

A) Language classes (MOD. 1 - Dr. Elisabetta Pavan), aimed at developing specific skills for designing and delivering oral presentations for professional purposes;

B) Language tutoring (MOD. 2 - Frederika Gebhardt, dott. Kengee Bostic), aimed at reviewing specialistic vocabulary and practicing oral skills.

The exam consists of an oral presentation on a topic connected to Computer Science to be prepared and delivered in pairs. The presentation will last 15 minutes, plus 5 minutes for questions and discussion with the Professor. Assessment criteria
a. Structure of the presentation: well-structured ppt, well-developed topic, effective slides, with authentic material;
b. Presentation Management: easy-to-follow, catchy, communicatively effective;
c. Oral skills: correctness in language usage
d. Oral skills: pronunciation and fluency.
