The course aims to explore the theme of Strategic Change especially through the study of business cases. In particular, it will deepen the process of (Meaningfull) Strategic Innovation stressing the importance of accepting Paradoxical perspectives as simultaneously contrasting but still acceptable.
- Know the most advanced conceptual frameworks emerged in the field of business strategy;
- Possess knowledge related to the implications of uncertainty on strategizing.
- Apply the fundamental theoretical constructs in the field of business strategy to different situations;
- Know how to formulate hypotheses and judgement on the effectiveness of different strategic alternatives;

- Example of individual paper
The exam is based on an individual project work + a team project work or, alternatively, a written exam.
With reference to the individual project work (10pts), students should analyse the mission/vision, business strategy and business model of a international business enterprise (e.g. Ikea) that will be assigned by the teacher, write a report about this business case.
With reference to the team project work (15pts), students should formulate a new mission/vision, business strategy and business model for a national business enterprise (e.g. Gruppo Pam/Panorama) to solve a real problem that will be presented in class by the teacher.
With reference to the written exam (15pts), students will answer to 3 open questions.
