This is one of the elective courses within curriculum China, Korea and Korea of the Corso di Laurea in "Lingue, Culture e Società dell'Asia e dell'Africa Mediterranea". Its formative objectives are within the area of cultural and humanistic skills learning.
Within a framework of increasing international relevance of the Asian region and its key players, the course of International Relations will integrate the knowledge of students whose curricula are focused mainly on laungages, cultures and historical dynamics of the mentioned area.
The course will introduce the theoretical paradigms of International Relations (Realism, Liberalism and Constructivism) stimulating a deeper understanding of the relations among states, international institutions and non-state actors. The course also will encourage participants to develop strong analytical skills on Asia and Far East foreign policy.
No prerequisites are required
The course will focus on the explaination and analysis of the main topics of international relations discipline and how the different IR schools use them to examine international politics. Alongside the role of the great powers, international institutions and non-state actors, the naunced and dynamic scenario of Asia and Far East will be examined paying particular attention to the role of medium powers.
