This course provides an overview on information systems, with a special focus on Knowledge Management, Business Intelligence, and Analytics.
This course aims to provide the student with:
i) The knowledge and skills necessary to assess the business opportunities presented by digital technologies;
ii) A solid foundation of basic concepts relevant to analyzing, using and managing information.
No previous knowledge is required.

The exam consists of a written test comprising a combination of multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions and a design exercise that requires the student to demonstrate his ability to analyze and solve a problem by means of the methodologies taught during the course. The exam aims to verify the understanding of the theoretical concepts introduced during the course and the student's ability to apply them to real-world scenarios. The final test consists in a written examination aimed to verify students knowledge about the subjects covered in the course.

During the test, students are allowed to have on their desk just a pen, a pencil, and a rubber. Students are not allowed to consult course material, books, and any other sources, to use mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, and any other electronic devices.
