The course is offered to students in exchange.
The course aims to deepen the skills of Italian, from the synchronic and diachronic point of view. At the end of the course the students will be able to master with greater competence the linguistic possibilities of Italian.
The course includes an intermediate knowledge of Italian, to the B1 level.
The "Lingua italiana" module will focus on the socio-linguistic aspects of the Italian language. We will offer the fundamental tools for the understanding of contemporary Italian (varieties, registers, etc.) with particular reference to the diatopic variety, also in relation to the standard Italian. We will refer to the Italian language as a daily written and spoken language, and to its differences in use.
In the second part of the course we will focus on the most important periods of the history of the Italian language: the transition from classical Latin to popular Latin till Italian vulgars; the formation of the literary language in the fourteenth century; the "questione della lingua" of the 16th century; the establishment of the national language at the time of Italian unification (1861).
All lessons will be supported by the analysis of examples and texts, which will be provided in class.
The module "Esercitazioni linguistiche" has the objective of exercising all the aspects of the language, necessary to reach the B1 level according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
▪ Module 1: materials delivered to class or via Moodle by the teacher.
▪ Module 2: "Nuovo contatto B1" Corso di lingua e civiltà italiana per stranieri di R. Bozzone Costa, C. Ghezzi, M. Piantoni, Loescher Editore - ISBN 9788858308653
