The main objectives of the course includes the development of students' logical and algorithmic thinking, the ability to independently expand mathematical skills and conduct mathematical analysis of applied engineering problems.
As a result of studying the course, the student must:
- to know the main properties of mathematical objects to be studied, theorems and formulas that reveal the relationship of mathematical quantities;
- to be able to perform the necessary mathematical operations, use theoretical knowledge from certain subjects of the course to solve practical problems, and analyze the obtained results.
The course is designed for students who have acquired a basic knowledge of a general course in higher mathematics.
The course provides an overview of classical sections of higher mathematics and includes the following subjects:
Functions and their limits.
Derivatives and rates of change.
Integrals: definite and indefinite integral.
Function of two variables.
Double integrals and polar coordinates. Vector fields.
Differential equations.
The final assessment will be based on the report by the students on a specific topic agreed with the instructor.
Traditional interacting methods. Lectures: theoretical materials and problem solutions.
Educational material will be available in the Moodle platform.
