Training

Marco Calvi is a Phd student in Environmental Sciences (34th Cycle) and his research concerns the study of a method of geographical traceability of Italian industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) and its derived products, such as inflorescences, oils, seeds. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2015 and his master’s degree (110/110 cum laude) in Environmental Sciences at the Cà Foscari University of Venice in 2016.

Activities

His research interests concern in particular the study of a method of geographical traceability of Italian industrial hemp and derived products through the use of stable isotope analyses and trace elements, to try to combat the adulteration of products on the national market. In addition to this, Marco holds courses of information on the uses and potential that hemp has to offer to break down the prejudices that revolve around it. Currently, he's following a historical-anthropological research on an ancient hemp press found in Selva di Cadore, in the province of Belluno.
