Associate Professor in Environmental chemistry at Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Venice, Italy), Dept. of Environmental Science, Informatics and Statistics. She holds a Master degree in Environmental Sciences at Ca' Foscari (2002), and a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences at Ca' Foscari (2007), completed with a Marie Curie fellowship at Wageningen University (Wageningen, The Netherlands). 

Her research interests are in Environmental Risk Assessment for both traditional and emerging pollutants (e.g. nanomaterials) along the life cycle of products/processes and including the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) concept; sustainability assessment (integrating tools belonging to to the environmental, social and economic pillars) and, more specifically, assessment of environmental sustainability (environmental footprnts, LCA, etc.) in the circular economy context.

She has a strong expertise in Environmental Risk Assessment for contaminated sites (both aquatic and terrestial ecosystems), focusing on the development of integrated risk indexes based on the Weight of Evidence (WoE) approach and Multi Criteria decision Analysis (MCDA) methods, and in the conceptual design of decision support systems (DSS). She has experience in development and application of bioaccumulation models,in the assessment of contaminats biovailaboility and in the species sensitivity distribution (SSD) concept.

She has experience in coordination of multidisciplinary research groups and is involved in international/national project proposals and development. She is currently scientific responsible for Ca' Foscari for the HEU project GREENART "Green edeavor in art restoration". She is member of SETAC Europe since 2004. She is member of the Advisory Board of the scientific journal Environmental Sciences Europe since 2011 and member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management (IEAM) since January 2015. Since August 2015 she is founding partner as well as member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of GreenDecision s.r.l., spin off participated by the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Since 2023, she coordinates the Steering Committee monitoring the Data-centric Environmental Studies Centre (DESC) Research Centre, developed within the Department of Excellence project (funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, MUR).

National Scientific Qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) for the Academic Discipline (Settore Concorsuale, SC) 03/A1 for Associate Professor (seconda fascia) obtained in March 2018.
