Anna Marinetti
Professor of Linguistics, Ca’Foscari University of Venice.

Born in Venice, 1955. Graduated at the University of Padua, 1978. From 1985 to 1987 Professor of Linguistics at the Istituto Universitario di Lingue Moderne of Milan. Since 1987 Full Professor of Linguistics: from 1987 to 1990 at the University of Bari; from 1990 up to now at the Ca’Foscari University of Venice.
Dean of Department (Antichità e Tradizione classica, 1991-1996; Scienze dell'Antichità e del Vicino Oriente 1997-2003; 2006-2010); Head of University Library Service (2005-2007); member of Academic Senate (2000-2002; 2014-2017).

Her research interests focus on historical linguistics, linguistic historiography, indo-european studies, languages and inscription of ancient Italy, with special reference to languages and inscription of Northern Italy.
Scientific Director of research projects financed by Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Ministero per l’Istruzione, l’Università e la Ricerca (COFIN/PRIN 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2009; 2017), Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Progetto di Ateneo 2011, 2017).
