Part-time student
How do I get part-time student status?
After you have completed your enrolment or re-enrolment for the academic year, you can obtain part-time status by filling out the online form that you can find on the Part-time student page. You can submit the form between 1 July 2026 and 1 February 2027, exclusively using your official university email account. You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been processed.
Can I enrol on all degree programmes as a part-time student?
As a part-time student you can enrol on Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes offered by the University, except for:
- Digital Management;
- Linguistic and cultural mediation;
- Hospitality Innovation and E-Tourism;
- inter-university degree programmes with an administrative office at another university.
If I am registered as a part-time student, do I have any obligations?
Yes, you must:
- be enrolled as a current-year student (not as a repeating or "fuori corso" student);
- maintain part-time status for two academic years and agree not to transfer to another degree programme before completing the two-year period. Your choice is automatically confirmed when you enrol for the following academic year. When you exceed the regular duration of the programme and have not earned the necessary CFU/ECTS and therefore enrol as a "fuori corso" student, the part-time status will be automatically revoked;
- not exceed the limit of 72 CFU earned between 1 October of the first year and 30 September of the second year of each two-year period (internships and final examination excluded).
What happens in case of cancellation or withdrawal?
Your part-time status will be revoked if you exceed the limit of 72 CFU over the two-year period, if you submit a withdrawal request or if you graduate before completing the two-year part-time period. You can also request to switch to full-time status after one year of part-time enrolment. In case of cancellation or withdrawal from part-time status, the years spent as a part-time student will be reclassified as full-time (also for the purpose of calculating eligibility for scholarships and tuition fee reductions based on income and merit), and you will be required to pay the difference in fees, which will be recalculated automatically. Once the two-year part-time period is completed, any subsequent change to full-time status or withdrawal from status or withdrawal from studies will not have retroactive effects.
Are there any financial benefits for part-time students?
Yes, you will benefit from a reduced tuition rate, paying only 65% of the standard university fees. Please note that the regional tax for student financial aid and the 16 euro stamp duty due at the time of enrolment/re-enrolment must be paid as usual. The reduction linked to part-time status will be applied to the third instalment (due in May). If you are granted part-time status, you may still apply for other benefits available to all students (scholarships, student collaborations, fee reductions).
I plan to apply for the Regional scholarship for financial aid: when should I submit my request to register as a part-time student?
In this case, it is best to request part-time status before the scholarship rankings are announced. If you switch to part-time status after receiving a scholarship based on full-time status, the scholarship amount will be recalculated to reflect your new part-time status.
Am I entitled to any other benefits as a part-time student?
Yes, with part-time status you can earn all the required credits for your degree over a period equal to twice the normal duration of your programme. You are also automatically entitled to access the dedicated teaching materials offered through the University's Study support services (such as video lectures, short videos or custom multimedia content, as well as tutoring services).
