The programme at a glance

The double degree jointly designed by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Stevens Institute of Technology, allows selected students to attend courses at the partner university during their 2nd year and, upon completion of the programme, obtain two highly valuable academic qualifications for both the national and international job market.

Admission requirements

The double degree programme is reserved for students enrolled in the third year or recent graduates of a Bachelor's degree program at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice or other universities who intend to enroll in the 1st year of the Master’s degree in Global Accounting and Finance for the academic year following the publication of the Call for applications, who have passed the Spring admission test.
To participate in the programme, candidates must apply in the academic year preceding enrollment in the Master’s programme, within the deadlines set by the Call for applications.

Applicants must:

  • have obtained a bachelor’s degree with a final grade of at least 90/100 (or an equivalent grade for educational systems in other countries);
  • have passed mathematics-related courses in their Bachelor's programme with an average grade of at least 24/30 (or equivalent) or hold a GRE or GMAT test.

Before departing for the mobility period, selected students must have passed specific master's level courses with an average grade of at least 24/30. The list of required courses will be communicated by the Venice School of Management’s Educational Programmes office.

Students intending to participate in the programme must have an adequate level of English proficiency, which must be certified through one of the language certifications recognized by the partner university.
Selected students will be required to submit their language certificate during the registration phase at the partner university and will not be required at the time of application.

Application and selection

Students can apply for the programme following the procedures and deadlines outlined in the Call for applications and its annexes, which are published annually.

Calls and forms


Programme and study plan

During the 1st year of the Master's degree programme in Global Accounting and Finance, students selected for the double degree with Stevens Institute of Technology must complete 60 ECTS credits at Ca’ Foscari as part of a predefined study plan. Further information will be provided by the Educational Programmes office of the Venice School of Management at the end of the selection process.

Students will spend an academic year abroad at Stevens Institute of Technology in their 2nd year of enrollment, during which they must obtain 60 ECTS credits and complete the programme.

Tuition fees and mobility grant

For the mobility year only, selected students will be required to pay tuition fees at the partner university and will be exempt from fees at Ca’ Foscari, except for the regional tax for the right to education. More information on the tuition fees to be paid at the partner university is available on the dedicated webpage of the Stevens Institute of Technology website: Ca' Foscari - Stevens.

During the mobility period, students will benefit from a mobility grant with a variable amount, as defined annually in the Call for applications.
 


Mobility procedures

Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:

  • complete the registration/application procedure at the receiving institution according to the methods and within the deadlines set by the Partner University;
  • sign the grant agreement that regulates the disbursement of the mobility grant;
  • fill out the Learning Agreement, listing all the educational activities to be carried out at the Partner University and identifying the equivalences with the courses included in the Ca' Foscari study plan, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.

After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).

If students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University within one month from their arrival.
The Learning Agreement variation form must be approved by both Academic Coordinators.

Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.

As soon as it is available, students must send the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad, to the Welcome Unit (International Office).
The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.


Graduation

Students will complete their studies at the host university according to the deadlines and procedures established by the partner institution.

Once they have obtained their degree, students must inform the Welcome Unit of the International Office by submitting:

  • their diploma or a graduation certificate;
  • a complete transcript of records;
  • issued by the partner university.

The Welcome Unit will initiate the credit recognition process for the coursework completed abroad and for the final thesis.

Students must submit a formal graduation request in the first available session following the procedures and deadlines reported in the relevant webpage (Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures), indicating the academic coordinator of the double degree agreement as their thesis supervisor.

During the graduation session, candidates will present their final thesis and receive their diploma from Ca' Foscari.

Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the respective issuing countries.

Students who complete the programme can request a OPT extended stay which offers the possibility to work in the United States for the following three years.
