Save the date: 3 October for the San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest – discover the evening’s line-up!

On Friday 3 October, the San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest returns – an evening dedicated to music featuring three up-and-coming bands and two DJ sets. The event takes place between Magazzino 5 and Magazzino 6 at San Basilio and is the result of collaboration between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority – Ports of Venice and Chioggia.

The SBW Music Fest shines a spotlight on the creativity of Venice’s student community. As every year, we launched an open call for anyone studying in the city and composing original music. A panel composed of members from Radio Ca’ Foscari and Ca’ Foscari’s International College then selected the three projects considered most suitable for the evening.

This year, as always, the selection was anything but easy: every project submitted deserved a place on stage, but in the end only three will perform: Path to Springs, deTiubs, and Loosing Money.

Each live set will last 30 minutes, giving audiences the chance to enjoy a wealth of original tracks along with three sea-themed covers, selected and reinterpreted by the performers themselves. The evening will be opened by DJ RØRA, and after the concerts, the party will continue until midnight with another DJ set courtesy of Hard Rock Cafe Venezia. Admission is free until the concert area reaches its maximum capacity, as required by safety regulations. Refreshments will be available from Pep’s Burger.

Programme for 3 October 2025

  • 19:00 – Opening with DJ RØRA
  • Live sets from Path to Springs, deTiubs, Loosing Money
  • After party with DJ Christian Effe until midnight

Performing bands

Path to Springs
Path to Springs is a blend of genres, drawing on elements of alternative rock, ambient, slowcore and art rock. The group, originally formed in 2023 under the name Duam, consists of Leonardo Matitich, Ettore Vetrugno, Enrico Mastromatteo and Tommaso Bagheri Toroughi.
The quartet describes their music as an attempt to “gather what can create a shared space, a place of collective mimesis”, using melancholic vocal melodies and introspective lyrics in which the audience can recognise themselves, becoming, in some way, the protagonists of the songs. They are currently working on their debut album.

deTiubs
DeTiubs came together in spring 2022, born from a desire and a need to express themselves through music. The band consists of singer and bassist Simone Scarpa, guitarist Giacomo Filippin and drummer Giuliano Schiabello. Over the past two and a half years, they have consistently worked on new singles, ideas and sounds. Their latest single, Runitown, is based on a true story that happened to the band a few months ago. Dividing their time between studio sessions and live performances, deTiubs have gained solid experience, bringing their music to stages such as Il Vapore in Marghera, Venezia Suona in Venice, and even the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023.

Loosing Money
Loosing Money are a band formed in the province of Udine in 2023. Their sound draws inspiration from a range of genres including funk, rock and punk, in a musical journey that leaves room for experimentation. The line-up includes bassist Irene Ippoliti, guitarist and vocalist Vladimir Caroli, and drummer Mathias Plaisier. In 2024 they came second in both the Miela Music Contest and the FVG Music Contest, while taking first prize at Rock ’N’ Peach. They already have a solid live track record, having performed at various events and festivals across Friuli Venezia Giulia as well as in a live broadcast on Radio Capodistria.
