Selection

Selection is carried out annually by an Admissions Committee at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, the coordinating institution of the QEM Consortium.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process and, if admitted to the programme, of the assigned mobility scheme.

Students selected with Ca’ Foscari as their Entrance University will be contacted by the Welcome Unit, which will provide them with an official letter of enrolment eligibility and the necessary instructions for enrolment.

Please note: Admission to the programme does not automatically guarantee enrolment. Students must meet all entry requirements and follow the specific procedures and deadlines set by Ca’ Foscari for registration.

Enrolment at Ca' Foscari (Entrance University)

Students holding a Bachelor’s degree obtained in Italy must follow the procedures outlined in the Admission section of the webpage dedicated to the Master’s degree programme in Economics, Finance and Sustainability, and submit the required documents within the specified deadlines.

Students holding a first-cycle degree obtained abroad will receive instructions and information about deadlines from the Welcome Unit.

IMPORTANTNon-EU citizens who are not legally residing in Italy (i.e. do not hold a valid residence permit for enrolment purposes) must apply for a visa for study purposes in order to be eligible for enrolment. Further information about the relevant procedures will be provided by the Welcome Unit at the end of the selection process.

Programme and study plan

All students participating in the programme must complete a mobility period at at least two partner universities.

The second year of enrolment, which students will spend entirely at one partner university, is dedicated to the chosen specialisation.

Each student’s mobility scheme is determined at the time of admission to the programme, based on the preferences indicated in the application, the availability of the partner Universities, and the need to ensure a balanced distribution of students across the Consortium in the second year.

The Consortium reserves the right to make changes to students’ mobility schemes during their enrolment.

Students participating in the programme must graduate by the summer session of the second year and comply with all academic requirements, which are detailed on the programme’s official website: Erasmus Mundus Joint Master QEM - Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics.

Tuition fees and scholarships

Students participating in the joint programme are required to pay tuition fees to Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (the coordinating institution of the Consortium) for the entire duration of the programme.

Students admitted through the centralised selection conducted by the Consortium can contact the QEM Consortium Applications/Admissions Office at qemapp@univ-paris1.fr for more information about the scholarships offered by the Consortium.

Students admitted through the local selection at Ca’ Foscari may contact qem-venice@unive.it.

Scholarships may also be offered by the Department of Economics.

For the first semester abroad following the stay at Ca’ Foscari (except in cases where students return to their Entrance University), the International Office will provide a mobility grant. The amount varies based on the student’s economic situation, as certified by the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator). More details will be provided by the Welcome Unit during the semester preceding departure.

Students will graduate at the university where they complete their academic path, following the procedures and regulations of the respective institution.

Students graduating at Ca’ Foscari must submit a formal graduation application, following the procedures and respecting the deadlines indicated on the relevant webpage: Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures.

At the end of the programme, students will receive a joint diploma issued by all member universities of the Consortium.

In addition to the joint diploma, each student will receive a Diploma Supplement, following the model developed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and UNESCO/CEPES, which provides a detailed description of the nature, level, context, and content of the educational path completed. The aim is to facilitate fair academic and professional recognition of the qualification.
