Admission requirements
The programme is reserved for students enrolled in the Master’s degree programme in Tourism Management and Sustainability at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
To participate, students must apply during their 1st year of enrollment in the programme.
At the time of application, candidates must have obtained at least 18 ECTS credits. Before departure, selected students must complete the credits required by the study plan for the 1st year of the programme by successfully passing the relevant exams. Departure is subject to the completion of at least 60 ECTS credits.
Students intending to participate in the programme must have an adequate level of English proficiency (minimum level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). No official language certification is required.
A good knowledge of French (B2 level of the CEFR) is also strongly recommended, as it is essential for completing an internship in France.
For further details regarding the programme's admission requirements, please refer to the dedicated datasheet in Annex A of the Call for Applications.
Programme and study plan
Selected students will spend their 2nd year of enrollment at EM Strasbourg Business School, where they will complete one academic year of mobility, during which they must obtain 60 ECTS credits and complete their study plan in order to graduate.
During the mobility year in France, students are required to undertake either work activities or an internship, depending on their status at the partner university.
Specifically, students may be enrolled at the partner institution as either:
- students under an apprenticeship contract (combining academic training with work experience)
- full-time students without an apprenticeship contract (in which case they will still be required to complete an internship under a standard internship agreement).
The number of students admitted to each category will be determined annually in Call for Applications. In both cases, a B2 level of French is required in order to obtain an apprenticeship or an internship in France.
Although students are responsible for securing their own apprenticeship or internship, EM Strasbourg will provide dedicated support throughout the search process.
For more information about the programme and its study plan, please contact the Venice School of Management’s Educational Programme Office: international.management@unive.it.
Tuition fees and mobility grant
Selected students are required to pay tuition fees to Ca' Foscari for the entire duration of the programme and will benefit from total exemption from the payment of tuition fees at the partner University.
During the mobility period, students will benefit from a mobility grant with a variable amount, as defined annually in the Calls for Applications.
Mobility procedures
Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:
- complete the registration/application procedure at the receiving institution according to the methods and within the deadlines set by the Partner University;
- sign the grant agreement that regulates the disbursement of the mobility grant;
- fill out the Learning Agreement, listing all the educational activities to be carried out at the Partner University and identifying the equivalences with the courses included in the Ca' Foscari study plan, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.
Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.
After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).
If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.
Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.
As soon as available, students must send to the Welcome Unit (International Office) the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.
The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.
Graduation
Students will complete their study programme at the host university. The thesis must be written in accordance with the partner institution’s regulations and will be co-supervised by a Ca’ Foscari professor, who will take part in the graduation session (either in person or online), prepare a written evaluation and propose a grade.
Once they have obtained the French degree, students must inform the Welcome Unit of the International Office by submitting the following documents issued by the partner university:
- their diploma or a certificate confirming the award of the degree;
- a complete transcript of records.
The Welcome Unit will start the credit recognition process for the coursework completed abroad, including the final thesis.
Students must submit a formal graduation request in the first available session following the procedures and deadlines reported in the relevant webpage (Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures), indicating the academic coordinator of the double degree agreement as their thesis supervisor.
During the graduation session, candidates will present their final thesis and receive their diploma from Ca' Foscari.
Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the respective issuing countries.
A bonus point will be added to the final exam grade for students who participated in a double or joint degree programme. More information is available at the following webpage: Characteristics and assessment of final exam.
