The master's degree in Tourism Management and Sustainability (ToMaS) at the Venice School of Management (VSM), offers a unique experience for those who want to shape the future of tourism. With its innovative approach and focus on sustainability, ToMaS trains tourism management and governance professionals who can drive change in this rapidly evolving sector, particularly in the post-pandemic period.
Thanks to a flexible curriculum, you can customise your study plan based on your interests and the skills you want to develop. You can choose between two areas of specialisation.
Tourism Business Management – focused on the operational management of tourism enterprises, integrating business dynamics within the broader context of tourism systems and destinations.
Tourism Governance – focused on understanding and managing development policies and the economic dynamics of tourism systems.
ToMaS provides you with advanced managerial skills to tackle key challenges such as:

Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum and the inclusion of practical workshops and internships with institutions and companies active in global tourism markets, you will have the opportunity to develop concrete skills and connect with managers, professionals, and industry experts during classroom lectures.
This programme uses methods such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Business Model Design to allow you to apply your knowledge to real business cases, addressing challenges posed by VSM’s partner companies.
Through the Career Service, you can select a company where you will complete a short-term internship.

the programme prepares you to assume coordination and governance roles in the tourism sector, both in the public and private spheres — in hotel chains and international companies, as a project manager for tourism events and services, or in leading positions within public bodies and international organisations
you will be able to undertake high-level professional roles independently within emerging or long-standing organisations and businesses operating in global tourism markets, supporting the strategic development of tourism enterprises or launching new entrepreneurial ventures in tourism and culture
you may work as a marketing consultant, destination planner, or specialist in sustainable and territorial development. You may also choose the path of entrepreneurship in tourism and culture, or take on leadership roles in governmental bodies and international organisations
