Thesis supervision
I am available to supervise bachelor and master theses, as long as they contain a statistical component and are aligned with the research interests of both myself and the Department. Typically—though not necessarily—the student proposes the research topic. Master students may also have the opportunity to be involved in ongoing research projects.From an applied perspective, some of my research interests include:
- Health inequalities;
- The relationship between humans, the environment, and health;
- Issues related to population aging;
- Sports as a tool for health promotion;
- Competitive sports (any discipline): talent identification, multidisciplinary approaches, performance prediction and monitoring;
- Diffusion models for innovations.

- State-space and time series models;
- Machine Learning;
- The Bass model and its generalizations;

Curriculum vitae
I am currently working as a statistician on the Planet4Health project, collaborating with the Venetian research team. My research interests primarily involve the development of statistical models for the analysis of complex data, with a particular focus on Bayesian methods for social and environmental sciences. Prior to my work on the Planet4Health project, I served as a post-doctoral researcher at Ca' Foscari University, contributing to the Age-it project for about a year. In this role, I developed statistical models and methods to study multi-morbidity dynamics in Italy. I got my Ph.D. from the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Padova in May 2022. My dissertation, supervised by M. Bernardi (University of Padova) and P. Dellaportas (Athens University of Economics and Business, University College of London), was titled "Sports Performance Analysis with State Space Models" and received an honorable mention in the 2023 "Best PhD Thesis in Applied Statistics" award of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS). I keep this research theme active by collaborating with experts in the field of sports science.
