Edy Fantinato, born in Bassano del Grappa on 24 August 1988, is a researcher in plant ecology at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics, where he teaches "Biodiversity Monitoring Techniques" and "Biodiversity Laboratory". He is the author of several studies published in international peer-reviewed journals, technical reports and book chapters. He is visiting researcher at the University of Debrecen (Hungary). He is involved in the following EU projects: LIFE16 NAT /IT/000589 "Redune" and LIFE19 NAT /IT/000848 "PollinAction" as project assistant, and COST Action CA18201 "Conserve Plants" as co-leader of WG3 "Filling the gaps in plant conservation". His research activities are mainly related to plant community ecology and pollination ecology. Currently, his research is focused on: - Restoration of dune habitats in Natura 2000 sites on the Veneto coast; - Actions for boosting pollination in rural and urban areas; - Conservation status assessment of Natura 2000 habitats in Italy (Art. 17). He is member of the Italian Society of Vegetation Science (SISV), the Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) and the International Association on Vegetation Science (IAVS). He is member of the Editorial Board of the Journals Froniers in Plant SciencePlant Sociology and Palaearctic Grasslands.
