Elisabetta Lazzaro is cultural economist and Professor of Creative and Cultural Industries Management at the University for the Creative Arts, Business School for the Creative Industries, United Kingdom. She has formerly been professor of  economics and management of the arts, culture and the creative industries at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht (Netherlands), the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) (Belgium) and Southern Methodist University, Dallas (USA).

She holds a PhD in Economics jointly from Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the ULB, a Master in Economics & Culture from Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne University, a BA & Master in Economics and Management from Ca’ Foscari Venice University (Italy), together with other degrees and fellow studies in economics, management and the arts in Europe, the USA and Australia.

Prof. Lazzaro’s publications, research and teaching focus on the economics, management and policy analysis and design of the arts, culture and the creative industries, including: Arts markets, creative entrepreneurship, innovative business models and sustainable financing of creative and design professionals and organisations, digitization and technology transfer in the creative arts and cultural heritage, cultural participation and audience development;crossovers and socio-economic impact of the creative industries and international related policy aspects.

Prof. Lazzaro is regularly invited as keynote speaker and lecturer in many universities and symposia worldwide. In her field expertise she has assisted as a special adviser in scientific and steering committees of major international, European and national institutions, scientific and cultural national agencies and governments.

She is Executive Board Member of the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI).
