Dr. Giada Pellicari is the recipient of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship with the project "FWAM -Between Art Fairs and Art Markets. The Role of Women at the Beginning of the Contemporary Art Ecosystem", at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice under the supervision of Prof. Portinari, at Yale University, under the guidance of Prof. Goetzmann, and at Erasmus University Rotterdam (Secondment), with Prof. Dr. Vermeylen. 

She holds a Ph.D. in Visual and Media Studies, Visual Arts Curriculum from IULM University in Milan, where she developed a dissertation on the evolution of the model of art fairs, graded Excellent, supervised by Prof. Casini (IULM) and Prof. Baia Curioni (Bocconi). 

At Duke University, Department of Art, Art History and Visual Studies she was invited by Prof. Hans J. Van Miegroet as a DALMI Fellow (Duke Arts, Law and Markets Initiative), for the Fall Term 2023, and she was a Visiting Scholar at the Université Libre de Bruxelles-Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (June-July 2023), under the supervision of Prof. Kim Oosterlinck.  

Previously, she was was an Adjunct Professor at the Sanremo Academy of Fine Arts and Accademia del Lusso in Milan, where she taught several Contemporary Art courses (2025-2026); an Adjunct Professor of Museology and History of Collections at Albertina Academy of Fine Arts (2021-2022), in Turin; a Research Fellow in Art Market Analysis at IUAV University in Venice (2020-2021), and lecturer for “Contemporary Art in Venice-The Biennale Exhibition” at IED (2019).

Dr. Pellicari holds a BA degree in Visual Arts (with a specific focus on Contemporary Art History) from the University of Padova, and a MA degree in Visual Arts and Theatre (addressed to Curatorial Studies) from IUAV University in Venice, both graded CUM LAUDE. She received an Executive Master in Art Market Management from IULM University in 2019, and was chosen for the “Contemporary Art Archivists Workshop” at the CRRI-Castello di Rivoli Research Institute, in Turin (2021) led by Dr. Pietro Rigolo.

She has spoken at several international conferences and seminars, including: the 8th TIAMSA International Conference, Póznan, Poland; the 36th CIHA World Conference, Lyon; the 7th TIAMSA International Conference, the University of Melbourne, Australia; Duke University, Department of Art, Art History and Visual Studies, NC, USA; ULB Brussels; Nordik Conference on Collections, Copenhagen; Ca’ Foscari University of Venice; Skidmore College Dep. Media Studies, NY, and at the University of Bologna.

She has published several articles, peer reviewed essays, art catalogs and a book.

She is a Member of TIAMSA-The International Art Market Studies Association and of CAA-College Art Association.
