Bachelor's Degree Programme in
Engineering Physics
Enrolment from 2025/2026

Additional Learning Requirements (OFA)

OFA in Logic – Mathematics

The Engineering Physics degree programme requires adequate knowledge of mathematics, abstract thinking, and methodological rigour.

Your mathematics, abstract thinking, and methodological rigour skills will be tested during the TOLC-I or English TOLC-I test offered by CISIA. You are recommended to take this test in order to evaluate your level of knowledge at the enrolment stage.

If you do not sit the test or if you score less than 17 out of 41 you can enrol but you will be assigned the Additional Learning Requirement - ALR (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo - OFA) in logic-mathematics. Please note the English language section is excluded from the total score and the sciences section is weighted 10%.

If you have been assigned the OFA, even if you are a part-time student, you will be allowed to sit the logic-mathematics exam to fulfil it in the 4 exam sessions during their first academic year.

If you have been assigned the logic-mathematics OFA, you will not be allowed to take any exams until its fulfillment.

Logic - Mathematics Exam (Additional Learning Requirement)

If you have been assigned the ogic - mathematics OFA, you can fulfil it by passing the CT0000 - Logica - Matematica (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo) exam.

You need to register for the exam session in order to sit the exam. Exam sessions dates to fulfil your OFA will be reported on the dedicated webpage.

All the exam sessions will take place in the Scientific Campus.

If you are a candidate with a disability or with DSA, you can make use of individualised procedures for taking the exam. When you register for the exam, you can send your request for assistance by sending an email to inclusione@unive.it.

During your first academic year, you have the opportunity to take the General Mathematics e-learning pre-course to support your exam preparation.

Exemption from the Logic - Mathematics OFA

You will not be assigned the OFA Logic - Mathematics if you:

  • obtained credit recognition for at least 3 CFU in mathematics when enrolling;
  • passed the TOLC-I or English TOLC-I before enrolment scoring at least 17/41 (the English language section is excluded from the total score and the sciences section is weighted 10%).

E-Learning Pre-Course of General Mathematics

Ca’ Foscari University promotes the adoption of e-learning methodologies to facilitate access to education and support the integration and dissemination of knowledge.

In this context, the Teaching Committee of the Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics offers students with an OFA (Additional Learning Requirement) the opportunity to review and strengthen the mathematics knowledge required.

Attendance in the online pre-course for fulfilling the OFA requirement is not mandatory but strongly recommended. Students already enrolled in the degree program who wish to review and consolidate their mathematics knowledge may also participate in the pre-course.

How to participate

Attendance in the e-learning pre-course is free and open to all. The course is delivered entirely online via the university’s e-learning platform and does not award university credits. Access is available using the same credentials as Ca’ Foscari’s student portal or by registering as an external user through SPID.

The online pre-course follows a schedule of activities, typically lasting 4 weeks. Each week includes video lectures, self-assessment tests, and supplementary materials provided by the instructor.

All activities can be followed at your preferred time and day.
