The double degree programme jointly designed by the Department of Economics and the Venice School of Management at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Henley Business School, University of Reading offers students the opportunity to experience an international study path, attending their second year at the partner University, achieving, at the end of the programme, a double academic degree.


Admission requirements

This double degree programme is reserved to students enrolled in the following Master’s degrees:

  • International Management
  • Global Accounting and Finance
  • Innovation and Management for Culture and Creativity
  • Economia e Finanza
  • Economics, Finance and Sustainability
  • Data Analytics for Business and Society

at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

To participate, students must apply during their first year of enrolment.

At the time of application, candidates must have obtained at least 12 ECTS credits. Before departure, they must have earned the credits envisaged in the study plan for the first year of the programme by successfully passing the relevant exams. Departure is conditional upon the completion of at least 60 ECTS credits.

Students who intend to participate in the programme must have an adequate level of English proficiency, to be certified through one of the language certificates recognized by the partner university. The language certification will be requested during the process of enrolment at the partner University and it will not be required during the application process.

Programme and study plan

Students will spend one academic year at Henley Business School, University of Reading in the second year of enrolment, during which they are required to achieve at least 60 ECTS credits and complete their programme.

Students enrolled in the Master's Degree in Global Accounting and Finance can access one of the following programmes offered at the Partner university:

  • Master in International Accounting and Finance;
  • Master in Accounting, Financial Management & Digital Business;
  • Master in Corporate Finance.

Students enrolled in the Master's Degree in International Management can access the following Master:

  • Master in Management (International Business).

Students enrolled in the Master's Degree in Innovation and Management for Culture and Creativity can access one of the following Masters:

  • Master in Marketing (International Marketing);
  • Master in Marketing (Sustainable Marketing);
  • Master in Marketing (Digital Marketing).

Students enrolled in the Master’s degree in Economia e Finanza and Economics, Finance and Sustainability will have access to one of the following Master’s at the partner University:

  • Master in Finance
  • Master in Investment Management
  • Master in Financial Risk Management
  • Master in Corporate Finance
  • Master in Climate Change, Sustainable Business and Green Finance.

Students enrolled in the Master’s degree in Data Analytics for Business and Society (advised path: Fintech and Bigtech) will have access to the following Master’s:

  • Master in Finance and Financial Technology (FinTech).

Students enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Data Analytics for Business and Society (advised path: Business Application) will have access to the following Master’s:

  • Master in Digital Business and Data Analytics
  • Master in Digital Innovation

The assignment of the Master's programme will be decided by the Selection Committee during the selection process, taking into account:

  • the student’s ranking in the merit list;
  • the preferences expressed by the students at the time of application;
  • the number of places available in each track.

After being selected, students from the Department of Economics must contact the relevant  Educational programmes office (didattica.economia@unive.it), to agree in advance on the study plan to be followed abroad, based on the equivalence between the courses offered at Henley Business School, University of Reading and those at Ca' Foscari, and to define any possible changes to their study plan at Ca' Foscari University.


Tuition fees and mobility grant

For the mobility year only, selected students will be required to pay tuition fees at the partner University and will be exempt from fees at Ca’ Foscari, except for the regional tax for the right to education.

As established by the double degree agreement, Ca’ Foscari students will benefit from a 30% discount on the partner University fees, which vary according to the assigned Master’s. For the period of mobility abroad, selected students will benefit from a mobility grant, as provided for in the Call for applications.

Mobility procedures

Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:

  • complete the registration/application procedure at the receiving institution according to the methods and within the deadlines set by the Partner University;
  • sign the grant agreement that regulates the disbursement of the mobility grant;
  • fill out the Learning Agreement, listing all the educational activities to be carried out at the Partner University and identifying the equivalences with the courses included in the Ca' Foscari study plan, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.

After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).

If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.

As soon as available, students must send to the Welcome Unit (International Office) the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.

The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.


Graduation

Students will conclude the programme at the partner University, following the procedures established by the Host institution.

Once the degree has been awarded, the Partner university will send the necessary documentation to the Educational Programmes office of the relevant Department and to the International Office in order to initiate the credit recognition procedure for the activities completed abroad, including the final examination, for the purpose of issuing the Ca' Foscari degree.

After the credit recognition procedure has been completed, students will be invited to attend a ceremony for the proclamation and awarding of the Ca' Foscari degree, which will take place during the first available graduation session. To this end, students will be required to submit a graduation request at Ca’ Foscari, by following the procedures and deadlines indicated on the relevant webpage: Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures.

Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the countries where they are issued.

Unless there are future changes to the current regulations, at the end of the programme, students can apply for a Post-Study Work Visa or Graduate Route Visa, which allows graduates to remain in the United Kingdom for two years.
