Curriculum vitae

Stefania De Vincentis is Associate Professor of History of Contemporary Art at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, where she holds the teachings: History of Contemporary Art (30 h), Digital and Public Art (30h), Digital Iconography and Iconology Studies (30h), Investigating Museum Collections (30h). She received her Doctorate cum laude in Humanities with the thesis: The Museum of Ancient Art in a Digital Perspective discussed at the University of Ferrara. Her former education includes MA in Visual Arts from at IUAV -University Institute of Architecture in Venice (2008), a Bachelor’s degree at the Bologna Academy of Fine Art (2003) In 2009 she obtains the Diploma of Short Master MuSeC-Economics and Management of Museums and Cultural Institutions at the University of Ferrara.

At the same University she is from 2013 to 2019 a Research Fellow in Art History at the Department of Humanities. In 2019 she is a visiting student at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles; in the same year she is a fellow at the Fondazione Ermitage Italia with a research project entitled L'Ermitage da remoto. Resources, interfaces, projects and digital strategies for accessing museum collections.

From 2021 she is member of the Venice Center for Digital and Public Humanities and scientific coordinator for research agreements with the Galleria Borghese in Rome for the digitization of museum collection and the virtual museum access in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of the University La Sapienza in Rome and the CNR-ILC in Pisa.

At Ca'Foscari University she is the referral person for the University Research and Public Engagement Agreements with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.

She has been part of the technical board in the in several European application projects.

She in member of the scientific committee of the book series “Imago Memoriae”, and part of the scientific and editorial board of the journals "Magazén- International Journal of Digital and Public Humanities", publisher Ca' Foscari University, and "Paesaggio Urbano". She has lectured in Italy and abroad on digital museography, descriptive models for digitized collections, and technologies supporting digital art history.
