The professor will ALWAYS reply to emails of students whose theses she is supervising.
THESIS SUPERVISION
The professor is glad to supervise theses in public international law and EU law, with specific regard to women's rights, human rights, international environmental law, environment and human rights, ecocentrism, fight against transnational crimes, right to memory. The professor is not going to accept theses via email. I kindly remind you of the fact that writing a thesis is an intense work which requires 4 months minimum (bachelor degree) and 8 months (master degree). The research for the thesis cannot be entirely conducted entirely on the web - except for searching for international legal instruments and documents - but must be conducted at the library. Plagiarism is a crime.

Curriculum vitae
Full Professor of International Law from November 2024 at the Department of Economics, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, delegate of the Rector to the Day of Remembrance and the Day of Remembrance and for Gender Equality.
She is senior expert on violence against women, by appointment of the European Commission, at the European Network of legal experts in gender equality and non-discrimination, based at Utrecht University. She is legal expert for the European Commission of the EU network on preventing gender-based violence and domestic violence (2024-25) and drafted the report, published in February 2025, EU law in light of the Istanbul Convention. She was deputy director of the Centre for Human Rights Studies (Cestudir) at Ca‘ Foscari from 2015 to 2020, and is deputy teaching coordinator of the three-year degree course in Philosophy, International Studies and Economics at Ca’ Foscari. She is affiliated with the Manchester International Law Centre (UK), where she co-founded the Women in International Law Network (Wilnet).
She is PI of the PRIN project Gendering international legal responses to chronic emergencies (2023-2025) and unit contact person of the PRIN PNRR project Ecce Human. She is also chair of the Jean Monnet Whale module (2023-2026) on non-human animal rights.
She is also a member of the doctoral college ‘Law, Market and Person’ at Ca' Foscari University, Venice. He has spent several research periods abroad as a visiting academic (2015 - Manchester, UK; 2016 - Hitotsubashi, Tokyo) and lectures in English and French in Italy and abroad, including at the Master 2 en droit pénal financier of the University of Paris Cergy-Pontoise and at the E.ma (Human Rights and Democratisation) masters of the EUIC in Venice. She is a lecturer at Venice International University (she has taught Global Governance, Peace, Security, Cooperation and Development, Gender Studies and Globalisation, Ethics, Welfare and Human Rights).
She was international expert for the Council of Europe in June 2017 in Pristina (Kosovo) on the Istanbul Convention and in May 2020 in Strasbourg (online conference) on the relationship between the pandemic and women's rights. She was a consultant for European Women's Lobby from July to November 2020 on gender-based violence against women and possible EU action on the issue. She is co-editing a report with her colleague Lorena Sosa for the European Commission (through the EELN network) for May 2021 on the comparison of national criminal laws on gender-based violence against women with recommendations to the Commission on future EU legislative action.
She participates as a speaker at conferences in Italy and abroad.
