Abigail Assor (1990, Casablanca) moved to Paris when she was seventeen. She studied philosophy and sociology before shifting her focus to writing and cinema. She regularly writes the weekly literary horoscope for “L’Obs”. Her debut novel, Aussi riche que le roi (As Rich as the King, Pushkin Press 2023), has been translated into seven languages and received multiple awards, including the Prix Françoise Sagan, Trophée Folio-Elle, Prix Bookstagram France, and the Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation Award for Best Emerging Writer. It was also shortlisted for the Goncourt Prize for a First Novel and the Letteraria Prize, and was a semi-finalist for the Gregor von Rezzori Prize. Her 2024 novel, La nuit de David, won the Prix Version Femina, the Prix Alain Spiess, and the Prix des Lecteurs Privat, and was shortlisted for the Prix de l’Académie française among other honours.
