Erasmus+ study programme

The Erasmus+ Programme gives students the opportunity to participate in cultural experiences abroad, become acquainted with new higher education systems, improve their language skills and meet young people from other countries, contributing to the development of a more united Europe.
Thanks to the Erasmus+ Study Programme students can benefit from a study period abroad at a partner university located in one of the participating countries.
They will be able to attend university courses and use the host institution facilities without paying additional tuition fees, while receiving a grant from the European Commission. They will obtain full recognition for their study period abroad and the registration of the activities carried out in their academic career.

How to participate
The call for applications to the Erasmus+ Study Programme for a.y. 2022/2023 is online. The deadline to apply is March, 7th 2022 at 12:00 p.m (noon)
Calls for Applications
Linguistic Preparation
To ensure that you are properly prepared for your Erasmus+ study experience and make sure that you meet the partner university's language requirements, Ca' Foscari offers you the following options:
- OLS Test and course (see section "Before Leaving")
- Courses offered by the University Language Centre - CLA [ITA].
If none of these options is suitable for you or if you are required to submit a specific linguistic certification, you can address an institution external to the University.
It is your responibility to verify which certifications are accepted by the host university. In case of doubt about the accepted documentation, please contact the Erasmus office of your host university.
If you just need a declaration issued by Ca' Foscari, you can send us proof of your language level via email to erasmusout@unive.it so that we can provide you with the requested document.
ATTENTION: we remind you that you will need to provide proof of your language level within the terms established by the host university. The host university might reject your application in case you do not meet the entry requirements.
Students with special needs
Erasmus+ pays particular attention to students whose physical, mental or health-related conditions are such that their participation in the Programme would not be possible without extra financial support.
Students with physical, mental or health-related conditions can in fact benefit from the support services that the receiving institution offers to its enrolled students.
Moreover, they may be able to apply to an additional European financial suppport for costs related to their special needs, in addition to the regular Erasmus+ grant.
All selected students will be informed about how to apply to the additional EU financial support during the next months.
Destinations
Information factsheet are constantly updated according to the information provided by partner institutions. We highly suggest you to regularly consult them, along with the websites of the host universities, also after you have been selected.
Students are invited to consult the guide to acronyms and abbreviations in the section "Destinations".

Procedures for outgoing Erasmus students a.y. 2022/2023
The procedures hereby described are referred to outgoing Erasmus+ students who have officially been selected for an Erasmus+ mobility, and who have correctly accepted the place.
The new Erasmus+ programme is updated on an ongoing basis by the European Commission and by the Agenzia Nazionale Erasmus+ INDIRE (the Italian National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme). For this reason, procedures and documents might change. Please, make sure to check your institutional email account (student’s number@stud.unive.it) and this web page regularly.
Students who do not comply with all the required procedures, as per the Call for Applications or procedures communicated via email, might in the most significant cases, have their mobility cancelled and be asked, as a consequence, to reimburse the whole amount of grant already received.
Contacts at Ca' Foscari
The International Office – Mobility Unit will help you with all the organisational and administrative aspects of your Erasmus+ mobility. If you have any questions about the contents of courses you will be attending or about transfer of credits, you should contact your Academic Coordinator at Ca' Foscari.
Contacts at your host university
The Erasmus Office at your host university will be your main contact for all issues related to your period abroad (academic calendar, course programme, accommodation)
Your contacts
From the moment that you accept your place, all communications from the Ca' Foscari International Office will be sent to your institutional account (student’s matriculation number@stud.unive.it).

After acceptance
Mobility period
- LONG-TERM MOBILITY: it cannot last for less than 60 days and must not exceed 12 months. Exceptions to the minimum duration can be made only in case the partner university confirms that the official term lasts for less than 60 days;
- SHORT-TERM MOBILITY FOR PhD STUDENTS: it cannot last for less than 5 days and exceed 30 days;
- A virtual mobility period can be combined with all mobilities, provided that the host university agrees;
- It must take place between 01/07/2022 and 30/09/2023;
- It must take place without interruption.
Nomination Procedure
The Mobility Unit will submit your details to the host university and will inform you.
Application Procedure
After the nomination, check the application procedures and deadlines for incoming Erasmus students on your host university website. It is your responsibility to prepare and submit the necessary documentation within the deadlines established by the host university, which might turn down your application if you fail to submit the documents on time.
Travel documents
ID or passport
Check that your ID or passport are valid for the entire mobility period. Some non-EU countries participating in the Programme (like Turkey) require an entry visa, which must be applied for in advance at the host country’s embassy/consulate in Italy.
For more information, please see www.viaggiaresicuri.it.
Health insurance
Contact your local health authority (ASL) to find out if your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) entitles you to healthcare in your chosen destination country or whether you require supplementary health insurance. For detailed information on all countries see the website of the Ministry of Health.
If you are a NON-EU citizen
Please, make sure well in advance:
- that you hold all the travel documents required to enter and stay in the country of your mobility, by contacting the host institution to receive information concerning the necessary documents for your stay in the country (immigration policies may vary from country to country);
- to apply for the necessary documents by contacting the competent authorities (consider that the application procedures for travel documents may take more than 90 days);
- that you hold a valid Italian stay permit when you return to Italy.
