Abstract:
This lecture reviews the rise of the ecological approach to literature in Vietnam and analyzes short stories by Tran Duy Phien, a nationally acknowledged ecological writer to indicate the political orientation as a characteristic of Vietnamese ecocriticism.
This lecture is particularly significant in the context of increasing attention in scholarship about the environment and literature in Southeast Asia in response to the rise in literary works centering on environmental concerns in the region.
