Isadora Antoniano Villalobos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics of Ca'Foscari University of Venice, since December 2018 and a Research Affiliate at the Bocconi Institute for Data Science and Analytics (BIDSA) since 2016. Born in Mexico City, after graduating from the BSc in Applied Mathematics at ITAM and the MSc in Mathematics at UNAM, she left the country to obtain the PhD in Statistics at the University of Kent, UK. She was a post-doctoral researcher (2012-2014) and then Assistant Professor (2014-2018) at the Department of Decision Sciences of Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, befor moving to Venice.

Her main research interest can be generally described as the statistical study of complex dependence structures. Bayesian nonparametric methods and, in particular, mixture models, are a powerful tool in this context, but certainly not the only one. Her research includes models for time-dependent data and density regression and, more recently, probabilistic sensitivity analysis and the study of dependence in multivariate extremes. A firm believer in methodology and models driven by real-life applications, she is always on the look-out for new and challanging problems.

She is a member of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA), where she served as chair-elect (2014) and then chair (2015-2016) of the j-ISBA section, as well as associate editor for the bulletin (2012-2016); the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS); the Italian Statistical Society (SIS); and the Mexican Statistical Association (AME), where she served as elected board member (2015-2019).

She was a member of the BSc. Program Committee in Economics, Management and Computer Science (2016-2018) and a member of the PhD. Faculty Board in Statistics (2015-2019) at Bocconi University.
