Overview

The degree programme in Welfare, Society and Social Work educates graduates with strong, specialised skills in planning and managing social and health policies and services, as well as in analysing and evaluating Italian and European social policies.
Students develop advanced skills to analyse and interpret contemporary social phenomena, with particular focus on social, economic, and employment inequalities, social marginalisation and exclusion processes, migration and intercultural relations, gender and generational issues, and eco-welfare topics. They acquire competences in analysing the evolution of social and citizenship rights and in understanding the transformations of welfare systems in Europe.
Teaching methods are based on a participatory approach and offer both theoretical and practical tools for understanding, analysing, and interpreting contemporary social phenomena, as well as the essential skills for planning and managing social policies and conducting social research.
A 250-hour internship (10 CFU/ECTS credits), an integral part of the programme, can be carried out within social services, third-sector organisations, research institutes or within the University itself, and may also take place abroad.
