Why choose this programme

1

one of only three universities in Italy offering Chinese as the main language in this class of Master’s degrees

2

the Ca’ Foscari programme uniquely provides a pathway combining expertise in both translation and interpreting (consecutive and simultaneous), which are increasingly demanded together. It is also the only programme to include the Chinese–English language pairing alongside Chinese–Italian

3

the programme combines advanced skills in translation and interpreting with the informed use of digital technologies, from an intercultural and inclusive perspective

Overview

The Master’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting aims to train professionals with specialised linguistic expertise in both interpreting and translation (specialised as well as literary), who are able to use digital and multimedia tools and techniques.
Translation studies, understood not only as communication but also as a distinctive form of mediation, address a wide range of linguistic-literary and socio-cultural issues from a comparative, intercultural and inclusive perspective.

The programme is designed for graduates who already possess a strong command of the Chinese and English languages and cultures. It aims to support those wishing to deepen their understanding of translation and interpreting techniques – including consecutive and simultaneous interpreting – as well as the cultural knowledge essential to working in these fields.
