Overview

The degree offers a strong foundation in key areas of the arts, archaeology, and cultural history from antiquity to the present. It provides students with vital skills in analysing artistic and archaeological contexts, understanding creative and production processes, and managing and promoting cultural heritage, including knowledge of cultural heritage legislation and event organisation. The programme is divided into four curricula: Archaeology, Art History, Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities, and Performing Arts and Media Studies, enabling students to receive a common foundational education while having the opportunity to specialise based on their interests.

This programme prepares students for related master’s programmes and provides professional opportunities in areas such as museums, foundations, cultural institutions, heritage protection organisations, publishing, communication, and organising artistic and performance activities. It is a vibrant programme that combines historical and methodological rigour with practical, professional application.

International network, experience abroad and employment

Ca' Foscari has over 1,500 partnerships with international institutions, including programmes like Erasmus+ and Overseas, enabling students to study and intern abroad.

Ca' Foscari's Career Service guides you into the world of work with advice services, CV support, meetings with institutions and companies, and the search for and setup of training internships in Italy and abroad. 

After graduation

you will have the opportunity to work in government administrations and in public or private institutions dedicated to the study, cataloguing, protection, conservation, and management of archaeological and historical-artistic heritage

you may find employment in organisations engaged in the management and promotion of the cultural industry, artistic events, and the performing arts
