Overview

Albanian, French, English, Italian Sign Language (LIS), Modern Greek, Polish, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Swedish, German — this wide range of languages is taught in Ca’ Foscari University’s Master’s Degree Programme in Language Sciences. During your studies, you will gain a thorough understanding of your chosen language of specialisation, not only from a linguistic perspective but also culturally, while developing strong research and analytical skills in the field of language sciences.

Depending on the subjects you include in your study plan, you can focus on:

  • the evolution of your chosen language through history and time, and the philological methods for interpreting and editing texts;
  • theories, topics, and innovative tools for teaching, designing, and researching foreign languages and Italian as a foreign or second language;
  • linguistic tools for analysing language and acquisition disorders in cases of deafness, as well as methods for teaching students with language-related disabilities;
  • the formal analysis of language.
