Curriculum vitae
Laureato presso l'Università di Padova in Scienze Statistiche ed Economiche nel 1988, ha ottenuto il DEA in Statistique et Modèles Aleatoires en Economie et Finance all'Università Paris VII nel 1992 e il dottorato in Statistica all'Università di Padova nel 1994.
È stato ricercatore presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche dell'Università di Padova dal febbraio 1994 all'ottobre 2003, e dal novembre 2003 al febbraio 2005 presso il Dipartimento di Statistica, presso l'Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia. Dal marzo 2005 al dicembre 2017 è stato professore associato in Statistica prima presso il Dipartimento di Statistica fino al dicembre 2010, poi presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Ambientali, Informatica e Statistica dell'Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia.
Attualmente è professore ordinario in Statistica presso lo stesso dipartimento
È stato visiting professor presso l'Université Paris 1, Université Montpellier II, Université Paris-Nanterre, Université Bretagne Occidentale, Universitè Paris Sciences and Lettres.
È stato associate editor del Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series C e attualmente membro dell'editorial board di Spatial Statistics
Le sue principali aree di ricerca sono la statistica spaziale, la teoria dei valori estremi e la statistica per l'ambiente.
