Preposto di Laboratorio
Dr. Kassa Ibrahim received his B.Sc. degree (2009) in Chemistry from Debre Markos University and his M.Sc. degree (2012) in Analytical Chemistry from Haramaya University. After three years as a lecturer at Adigrat University, he pursued doctoral studies at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, earning a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering and Nanosciences in 2018. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University (2019–2021), specializing in advanced synchrotron-based characterization techniques. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
His research focuses on the design and development of 0D–2D nanomaterials for water splitting, luminescent solar concentrators, and rechargeable Li/Zn-ion batteries, supported by state-of-the-art in-situ and operando synchrotron characterizations. These academic achievements have enhanced his international visibility, leading to numerous invitations to present at prestigious conferences and organize symposia at global scientific events.
Dr. Ibrahim is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions SAFE Fellow and a member of the Global Young Academy (GYA), one of the world’s most competitive platforms for young scientists, reflecting his commitment to advancing sustainable energy research and fostering global scientific collaboration. With over 30 publications in high-impact journals, he continues to bridge fundamental materials science with practical solutions for clean energy technologies.
