Excellent young researchers will be assisted in their career development by Ca’ Foscari with the “Marie Curie +1”programme, which offers scholars already funded by the European Commission with “Marie Curie” grants an additional year on their contract to develop new research ideas to submit an ERC proposal.

With “plus one”, the University funds a fourth year of the “Marie Curie” programme, during which the researchers will consolidate their results and plan new developments aiming at a prestigious and competitive funding: the Starting Grant of the European Research Council (ERC).

«The quality of research and University – said the Rector of Ca’ Foscari Michele Bugliesi – depends upon the investment of resources: the Marie Curie Plus One programme is one of the many initiatives launched, as well as hiring 10 researchers and increasing the number of research grants, facilities and funds for research; it is an important investment of over 5 million euro based on merit and quality of the scientific studies».
