Marie Curie fellow Tofik Ahmed Shifa

With a new fellowship, Tofik Ahmed Shifa joins the 30 Marie Curie fellows that won a place at Ca’ Foscari with the 2020 call.

Dr. Shifa will conduct his research at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems, supervised by Professor Alberto Vomiero. Dr. Shifa obtained a 24-month European Fellowship with his project CoCaWS - Confined Catalysis in Layered Materials – A Transformational Approach for Efficient Water Splitting.

CoCaWS aims at exploring new efficient catalysts for overall WS to tackle the problem of global energy crisis through eco-friendly hydrogen production. The development of sustainable energy sources is necessary in order to respond to global energy demands, the future of which is seriously threatened by the energy crisis and the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere.
