University Closure for Summer 2025 – Campuses and Libraries

Ca' Foscari University campuses in Venice, Mestre, and Treviso will be closed from Saturday, 9th August to Sunday, 17th August 2025, reopening on Monday, 18th August. Throughout August, there will be variations to library opening hours and some additional closure periods. Detailed information on these changes and specific closure dates can be found in each library's page

Looking to balance university with other commitments? Ca’ Foscari simplifies the process of applying for part-time student status

Would you like to attend university but cannot commit to full-time study? Ca’ Foscari has made important changes to its regulations to make it even easier for students with limited time who need to balance their studies with other responsibilities: you can now apply for part-time student status simply by completing an online form – with no requirement to submit supporting documents.

Internationalisation and support for deserving students: Ca’ Foscari and the SAVE group sign agreement to fund scholarships in China

The agreement was signed by Ca’ Foscari University Rector Tiziana Lippiello and SAVE Group President Enrico Marchi. The scholarships, available for the 2025–2026 academic year, will supplement existing funding for Ca’ Foscari students enrolled in the double degree programme with Capital Normal University in Beijing

Expo Osaka: Ca' Foscari joins forces with other 4 universities at the Italian Pavilion to launch the project 'Make Italian Culture Alive'

Make Italian Culture Alive (MICA) is a project funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, bringing together Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (project lead), the University of Florence, L’Orientale University of Naples, the University of Milan (Statale), and Sapienza University of Rome to showcase Italian excellence in research, education and cultural heritage promotion.

The service “Substance Use and Addiction: Preventive Counselling” launches at Ca’ Foscari, in collaboration with ULSS 3 and open to all Venetian universities

Promoting the psychophysical well-being of the university community also means addressing the issue of addiction with responsibility and competence. It is with this purpose in mind that the new "Substance Use and Addiction: Preventive Counselling" was created at Ca' Foscari: the service offers support, active listening and expert advice on drugs and other addictive behaviours. 

Easter, 25 April and 1 May 2025: Upcoming Ca’ Foscari Closures

Ca’ Foscari University’s premises in Venice, Mestre and Treviso will be closed from Saturday 19 to Monday 21 April for the Easter holidays, from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 April, and from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 May 2025. See the library pages for full details.

Venice Access fee 2025: new rules for members of the Ca' Foscari community

Members of Ca’ Foscari’s community, including students, faculty, administrative staff, researchers, fellows, librarians, and language experts, are exempt from paying the access fee, but may still be required to present a voucher to validate their exemption. You do not need to present a voucher validating your exemption if: you reside in the Municipality of Venice or in the Veneto Region, or if you show your University badge.

At Ca’ Foscari, the ‘Cattedra Messico/Mexico Chair’ in Latin American Studies

On Friday, 14 March, in Venice, Rector Tiziana Lippiello and Silvia Elena Giorguli Saucedo, President of Colmex, El Colegio de México, signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a ‘Mexico Chair’ in Latin American Studies at Ca’ Foscari. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Monday, 17 March, at 10:30 at Ca’ Dolfin.

Ca’ Foscari Shines in QS by Subject: Excellence Across 16 Disciplines

Ca’ Foscari University reaffirms its status among institutions of international excellence, according to the new edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject. Two new disciplines have entered the ranking this year - Communication & Media Studies and International Studies & Politics - bringing the total number of Ca’ Foscari subjects in the ranking to 16.
