The course offers students an advanced command of a foreign language, chosen from the following: Albanian, Arabic, Czech, English, French, German, Italian Sign Language (LIS, including tactile sign language), modern Greek, Polish, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian and Spanish.
Depending on the chosen path, you will also be able to analyse different areas of study with an in-depth comparative approach:the themes and teaching tools for teaching Italian to foreigners and foreign languages to Italians; advanced research tools for the analysis of language disorders and linguistic acquisition in case of deafness and bilingualism, the formal analysis of language, new technologies for the study of languages and linguistics, culture and literature in the different phases of their development and the historical-diachronic evolution of the chosen language.
The modules will be taught in multiple languages, including the chosen specialisation and the vehicular language (English).
You will deepen specific areas of language study such as the teaching of foreign languages and Italian as a foreign language, the psychology of development and learning applied to language in normal situations and pathology, computer science and information processing systems in language processing, linguistic analysis of speech and deafness disorders, the most advanced linguistic theories, the study of competence and processing in typical and atypical situations during the life cycle (eye-tracking).

The Welcome Unit - International Office selects MA/PhD students for 150-hours students’ collaborations to support the evaluation procedure of international prospective degree seekers.
The call is open to MA/PhD students from the following Departments: Economics, Management, Environmental Sciences Informatics Statistics, Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies, Philosophy and Cultural Heritage.
