Languages and Cultures Library (BALI)
BALI libraries will be closed on 8 December 2020 and from 24 December 2020 to 6 January 2021.
They will reopen on 7 January 2021.
The Languages and Cultures Library (BALI) is composed of 5 decentralized branches (American, Iberic and Slavic Studies, Language Sciences, Eurasian Studies, European and Postcolonial Studies, East Asian Studies).
The total assets include around 287,000 volumes, with numerous special book collections.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9 am-5 pm
from Monday to Friday: 9 am to-1 pm
BALI provides its services only on reservation, in order to guarantee the safety of people. Users must have adequate protection and present their university badge for identification purposes. No replacement badges will be provided.
University members (research users and students) must book via the Affluences website or the Affluences app using the institutional email (@stud.unive.it or @unive.it). The reservation must be confirmed by clicking the link that will arrive via email.
According to the DPCM of 3 November 2020, non-university members can't access the libraries, even if with a valid library card, until new communications.
The service will be provided during the opening hours only by reservation.
Users must book via the Affluences website or the Affluences app by clicking on prenota (book) and then selecting the icon appuntamento (appointment). Bibliographic data must be entered in the reservation. You can verify title, author and location of the books and check their availability in cerCa’ bibliographic resources portal.
To make a reservation select the BALI library that holds the book:

The required books will be available at the loan desk.
There is no need to book the loan service if you have already booked for consultation: during your slot you can also request the loan.
Volumes kept in repositories (collocazioni VT_BALI…), which are currently closed, are excluded from the loan service.
The consultation service is available for all university members (research users and students) subject to reservation. The service will be provided during the opening hours, by booking via the Affluences website or the Affluences app by clicking on prenota (book) and then selecting the icon posti a sedere (seating).
To make a reservation for the consultation service select a BALI library:
A maximum of 143 people can enter the rooms simultaneously.
During the consultation service users can borrow books.
During the consultation service, copy machines will be available for photocopies.
Books can be returned in the areas provided at the libraries entrance during the opening hours.
Online booking is not required.
If you have received an automatic return message, but you cannot go to the library, you can request an extension of the loan by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Returned books are subject to a 3-day quarantine.
Interlibrary loan and document supply
The interlibrary loan and document supply services are available and can be requested by online form.
To collect articles or books university members have to make a reservation via the Affluences website or the Affluences app by clicking on Prenota (book) and selecting the ILL-DD icon.
Active online services
The following services are provided online:
- help desk: from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm, the staff will respond in real time to user requests sent to email@example.com, including through the hangout service
- bibliographic reference and assistance with electronic resources by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information for final year undergraduates and PhD students write to email@example.com
- reference and bibliographic searches by filling in the special online form online form [ITA]

All the library electronic resources - ebooks, articles, electronic journals, theses and much more - can be consulted from home following the instructions at Remote access to electronic resources.
China Academic Journals
The new version of CAJ Full-text Database is online. CAJ is the largest database of academic journals published in China and in addition you can now search more than 57,000 periodicals in English. Please pay attention: to download the articles, that are part of the collections subscribed by Ca 'Foscari, click onin the upper right corner of the page.
