Languages and Cultures Library (BALI)
The Languages and Cultures Library (BALI) is composed of 5 decentralized branches (American, Iberic and Slavic Studies, Language Sciences, Eurasian Studies, European and Postcolonial Studies, East Asian Studies).
The total assets include around 287,000 volumes, with numerous special book collections.
Palazzo Cosulich libraries:
from Monday to Friday: 9 am to-6 pm
BALI provides its services only on reservation. Users must wear a mask and present their university badge for identification purposes. No replacement badges will be provided.
EasyPlanning or app MyUniVE
- University members: must book through EasyPlanning or MyUniVE app using the university login credentials.
- (Adult) Non-university members (with a annual card): can access library's services making reservation through EasyPlanning or MyUniVE app. For more information see the Access general rules page.
To collect the books without stopping in the library you must make a reservation within the day before. Bibliographic data must be entered in the reservation. You must fill the bibliographical data fields verifying title, author and shelmark of the books and checking their availability in cerCa’.
To make a reservation use EasyPlanning or MyUniVE app and select the entry BALI [library] - Ritiro di volumi in prestito (choose the library that holds the book).
The required books will be available at the loan desk.
There is no need to book the loan service if you have already booked for consultation: during your slot you can also request the loan.
Volumes kept in repositories (collocazioni VT_BALI…), which are currently closed, are excluded from the loan service.
The consultation service is available for all university members (research users and students) subject to reservation by booking via EasyPlanning or MyUniVE app and selecting BALI [library] - Consultazione in sede (choose the library that holds the book).
A maximum of 328 people can enter the rooms simultaneously.
During the consultation service users can borrow books.
Inclusive BALI and CFZ - welcoming students with disabilities
Starting from 28 June 2021 it will be possible to consult and/or borrow texts of the BALI collections at CFZ.
The request for consultation and/or loan must be sent to the reference BALI library by mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. To make a reservation use EasyPlanning or MyUniVE app or ask to the staff. The texts booking must be made 24 hours in advance.
In the CFZ main room there will be five seats reserved for students with disabilities.
Warning! The "accompaniment" service, if necessary, will not be managed by the library, but must be requested by the student at the Disability Office through the Reserved Area.
During the consultation service, copy machines will be available for photocopies.
Books can be returned in the areas provided at the libraries entrance during the opening hours .
Online booking is not required.
If you have received an automatic return message, but you cannot go to the library, you can request an extension of the loan by writing to email@example.com.
Interlibrary loan and document supply
The interlibrary loan and document supply services are available and can be requested by online form.
To collect articles or books university members have to make a reservation via EasyPlanning or MyUniVE app selecting the entry BALI Ca' Bernardo - Ritiro ILL/DD.
