Enrolment for EU students and equivalent

International students enrolling at Ca' Foscari are defined as prospective or degree-seeking students. On this webpage they will find all the information about enrolment procedures at Ca’ Foscari.

The procedures described here apply only to these categories of international students:

  • Citizens from European Union Member States;
  • Citizens from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Swiss Confederation, Republic of San Marino and the Holy See;
  • foreigners already officially residing in Italy as expressly indicated in Art. 39, comma 5, of Legislative Decree 286 of 25 July, 1998.

Non-European applicants requiring a visa for enrolment must follow procedures and deadlines published on Enrolment for non-EU students who require a visa.

Double - Joint degree programme applicants should contact  jointdegree@unive.it for more information about enrolment procedures.

More information on selection procedures can be found on the Double - Joint Degrees webpage.

Deadlines, tuition fees and procedures for enrolment

The Welcome Unit is in charge of enrolment procedures for students with an international qualification.

After passing the pre-evaluation procedure through the portal for international students apply.unive.it, applicants who have been accepted or conditionally accepted and have received their letter of enrolment eligibility can proceed with the enrolment process.

Applicants with the status “Ready for entry test (EU)” must follow procedures and deadlines described in the relevant call for applications of their chosen programme.

Once the enrolment procedure has been completed, applicants will become officially Ca' Foscari students and will receive their matriculation number. Although applicants can follow classes without having completed the enrolment procedures, only enrolled students can access university services as well as fill out the study plan and take exams.

Deadlines

The deadlines for enrolment to our institution depend on the programme.

For open-access programmes applicants are usually admitted after an evaluation of their qualifications, requirements and personal preparation, if necessary. Instead, for limited-access programmes applicants must also take an admission test and appear in the relevant rankings.

Deadlines for bachelor’s degree programmes are as follows:

  • Open-access general deadline: 2nd of October 2023;
    Extension with an extra fee: 31st of October 2023.
  • Limited-access: see the call for applications.

Deadlines for master’s degree programmes are as follows:

  • Open-access general deadline: 2nd of October 2023;
    Extension with an extra fee: 19th of December 2023.
  • Limited-access: see the call for applications.

Different deadlines for enrolment apply if future students would like to request the regional scholarship and incentives. More information on the call for applications is available on the webpage Scholarship and incentives.

Tuition fees

After the payment of the first instalment following the above-mentioned deadlines, the schedule of the remaining tuition fees through the academic year has been defined as follows:

  • Second instalment: 11th of December 2023
    For students who will pay the first instalment after December 11th, the deadline for the second installment will be postponed to December 22nd 2023.
  • Third instalment: 15th of May 2024
    The amount of this last instalment will be calculated based on the status of each student and on the total amount of tuition fees due for 2023/2024 academic year.

More information on the webpage Tuition fees a.y. 2023/2024 - Bachelor's and Master's Degrees

Important note for regional scholarship applicants: the deadline for the first instalment payment is different. More information on the so-called dedicated section above “Deadlines”.

    After receiving the provisional credentials, applicants are required to confirm the degree programme they wish to enrol in on our application portal apply.unive.it, through the so-called “Decision” function.
    Important! The so-called “Decision” needs to be made by everyone who have been accepted or conditionally accepted, even for just one programme.
    In order to do so, applicants should:

    Remember that this email address @stud.unive.it will be used for all official communications: it must be checked regularly.

Credit recognition

You can enroll both in a bachelor’s or a master’s degree program asking for credit recognition of activities already carried out for:

  • another bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or professional master already obtained;
  • unfinished university career because of withdrawal or decay;
  • single courses (outside of a degree scheme);
  • stage/internship/work activity.

Enrollment with credit recognition is not allowed for students currently enrolled in another university programme for which suspension was requested.

This procedure is subject to the payment of a fee of €300,00: the invoice for the payment will be generated when enrollment is confirmed.

You don’t need to pay this fee if you request credit recognition for:

  • activities previously accomplished at Ca' Foscari (for example individual courses) if the code of courses corresponds to that of the study plan of the programme you are enrolling into. If the courses aren’t included in the specific study plan and are thus inserted in the free choice courses you will have to pay the 300 Euros fee;
  • transfers from other Universities.

Credit recognition requests must be carried out before enrollment

International applicants must contact the related Campus for more information about the procedure: Economic Campus, Humanistic Campus, Linguistic Campus, Scientific Campus.
