Enrolment for non-EU students who require a visa
International students enrolling at Ca' Foscari (also described as prospective or degree-seeking students) will find: outstanding teaching and research activities as well as cultural, sports and leisure activities; a wide range of study courses and learning activities, many of which international in scope; tailored services for every stage of their studies, from preliminary evaluation of qualifications necessary for admission and enrolment to careers services for job placement after graduation.
After passing the pre-evaluation procedure through the university portal, applicants who received their letter of enrolment eligibility and who completed the application on Universitaly portal can proceed with the enrolment process.

Once the enrolment procedure has been completed, applicants will become officially Ca' Foscari students and will receive their matriculation number. Although applicants can follow classes without having completed the enrolment procedures, only enrolled students can access university services as well as fill out the study plan and take exams.
The procedures described below apply only to international students who require a visa for long-term stay in Italy.

These procedures for enrolment have been defined in compliance with the so-called “Procedures for entry, residency and enrolment of international students and the respective recognition of qualifications, for higher education courses in Italy for the academic year 2022-2023” available at studiare-in-italia.it [ITA].

Credit recognition
You can enroll both in a bachelor’s or a master’s degree program asking for credit recognition of activities already carried out for:
- another bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or professional master already obtained;
- unfinished university career because of withdrawal or decay;
- single courses (outside of a degree scheme);
- stage/internship/work activity.
Enrollment with credit recognition is not allowed for students currently enrolled in another university programme for which suspension was requested.
Enrollment with credit recognitions is subject to the payment of a fee of €300,00: the invoice for the payment will be generated when enrollment is confirmed.
You don’t need to pay this fee if you request credit recognition for:
- activities previously accomplished at Ca' Foscari (for example individual courses) if the code of courses corresponds to that of the study plan of the programme you are enrolling into. If the courses aren’t included in the specific study plan and are thus inserted in the free choice courses you will have to pay the 300 Euros fee;
- transfers from other Universities.
Procedures and deadlines
Credit recognition request must be carried out before enrollment.
For further information on procedures and deadlines, read the section Enrol > Admission > Enrollment with ECTS (European Credit Transfer System Credits) credit recognition of the pages of the specific bachelor’s or master’s degree programs that can be reached through www.unive.it/offertaformativa.
